Honestly, I hated my first yoga class. It was so challenging and I couldn't hold any pose (even the ones that seemed easy for everyone else) without shaking. But afterwards, my body felt so good that I decided to come back, and I was hooked. I truly believe that the asana portion of the yoga practice can show us the way our bodies are meant to feel.
After about 2 years of a strong home and somewhat regular studio practice, I decided to take my 200 hr training with the hopes of making a career doing something I absolutely love- as I promised myself I would do when I was little. At the same time as my 200 hr certification, I was finishing my bachelors degree in business management, and taking a 50 hr aerial yoga teacher training in the city. I began teaching yoga classes and helping to establish the only aerial yoga program in my area. I am currently delving even deeper, expecting to complete my 500 hr training in June 2017.
Here I am 3 years later, teaching traditional and aerial yoga as a career and loving it. Who would've thought that this was all possible? Teaching yoga is something I love so much, and I really believe that it can be life changing to anyone.
